Sertraline Vs Citalopram

I was put on Sertraline on Friday, and although they say to give it time, the symptoms have been unbearable, so today they’ve swapped me to Citalopram. Has anyone had a hard time on setraline but was successful on citalopram? I’ve never had issues on Sertraline before. But this time it’s been awful.

Hi I just started sertraline about 3 days ago but they started me on a very low dose for a week 25mg to see how I cope maybe you should try a lower dose What does did they give you ?

@Yasmina 50mg, when I told the Dr I think the dose is too high, she said that is the lowest dose. It’s so odd, I’ve always been fine on it before, but this time I feel awful.

Yes it’s the lowest dose but they can be cut in half . It’s my first time so I wouldn’t really know much but I thought I’ll inform you that I am on 25mg

I went off sertraline when i was younger. Tried a multiple of other things and ended up back on sertraline. It worked best for me. But everyone's different. Im on 100mg but was on 200mg when i moved countries because i was so stressed but now im good on the lower dose. Ive been on it since i was 15 im now 33

I was initially successful on citalopram, eventually at somepoint made my way to sertraline. Anti d's are not a one size fits all. I have now after a really bad episode of ppd/ppa have changed to a now very high dose of effexor and adjunct olanzapine. Takes time for everything to start working. Please give things time. If you need to reach out to urgent care or other mental health hotlines, please do

Woke up today feeling less like a zombie than I have been. So decided to stick it out on the sertraline seen as I am seeing improvements rather than start the whole process again with citalopram
