My baby is being fed with breastmilk through bottle. He has a lot of reflux , his weight gain is not consistent. I am advised to not consume any dairy, soy or eggs.
He almost drinks his daily volume but still is not gaining the required weight. I am concerned my milk doesn’t have enough fat for him.
Any suggestions or any else going through the same?

Learn more about our guidelines. It sounds like he needs to be put on medicine for the reflux.. especially if he isn’t gaining weight
@Alexis he was on medication for 3 weeks.. it definitely reduced the amount of spitup but he does still spitup
How are his stools? If they are watery or mucasy, it could be he isn’t digesting it properly and is intolerant. Which happens. Otherwise it could be what you eat. You may have to go dairy free and eat more healthy fatty foods. Cheeses, meats, avocados, nuts, etc
@Erin poops are not too watery or mucous, they are sticky and a little loose. He has good amount of wet and dirty diapers in a day.
I am off on dairy from last week since then I also noticed his weight gain dropping not sure if they are correlated. But will definitely increase intake of fatty foods as you suggested
We are just starting down the path to figure out why my little one isn’t gaining as he should as well. I don’t have any advice but I’m feeling very similar ❤️
Same here! I'm exclusively breastfeeding and currently struggling with my daughter gaining weight. I have gallstones, so they recommend that I shouldn’t eat anything that is too fatty (dairy), acidic, and spicy foods. It's a bit frustrating. I've tried formula, but she just spits it up because she dislikes the taste.
