Hey so just looking for other peoples views and opinions really.
I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I work as a SEN Teaching assistant. One of our children can be very violent and aggressive. We have just gone back to school today after the half term and all day the child has displayed violent behaviour, attempting to bite, kicking and hitting (luckily I moved out of the way) my colleague is fantastic and will step in but ultimately it’s my job to support him on certain days. I’ve still not had a risk assessment carried out (I told them at 8weeks due to the nature of the job)
I honestly felt scared at work today &
Tummy is aching tonight probably due to being so tense all day.
I’m wondering can I refuse to work with the child? 😬 I hate to be awkward but my baby’s safety is at risk.

I’m a SEN TA and I’ve had 3 risk assessments done already and I’m 17 weeks pregnant.
My job like yours can be very violent but I’m
Working with 19 year old lads so you fan imagine the damage they could do.
Your place of work are failing you badly and not following the law. Xxx
Oh wow! 😣I’m definitely going to have to have a conversation on Wednesday when I’m back in.
I’m in a primary school but still the violence can be still so bad! Today I was so scared and all the senior member’s of staff are on a residential trip 🤯😣

Risk assessment should be done and you shouldn’t really be dealing with that child or doing certain things
I’ve made to feel today that I’m over reacting. They are apparently waiting to hear back from HR before they do the risk assessment🤦🏼♀️
