I've always bathed ny baby every night since birth. She's 3 months old and sleep through the night since 8 weeks and we have a pretty good routine I keep getting conflicting information in regards to bathing her so regularly. Her skin can be on the dryer side but I wouldn't call it eczema.
I feel like the warm bath settles her down and she really enjoys it.
Do I just bath her in water? Not use soap
Just keep continuing with the usual routine?

I’m in the same predicament! She’s had a bath every night this week as she’s been quite sick or sweaty but today I’ve noticed her face has gone dry so will drop down to every other night I think xx

I was told that plain water is fine every night by my health visitor

With our eldest we did bath bottle and bed every night but noticed he had bad flare ups with eczema. This time round we’re not doing it that often. Lil bubs loves the bath compared to his brother and it does calm him but for some reason we’ve decided not to do it every night with him but it doesn’t bother him in the slightest😅🤣🤷🏼♀️ x

I only bath my little one twice a week because of his eczema, and use cleansing water every night to keep him clean with some cotton pads:) I also use oilatum soothing bubbles for his bath

I find her hands still stink with cleansing water! She needs like a soak in water 😂😂😂😂

My first had dry skin as a baby and I would bathe him in plain water but wash him using an emollient. Epaderm was always good. No bubble baths or soaps. Still don’t now x

@hannah the stinky hands!!! I had no idea about this but it's a thing isn't it?! 🤣

it’s like old salvia and they’re hands constantly being closed with the wetness 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮😂😂😂 bet yeah she stinks if we don my bath 😂😂😂 cleansing water makes it stand out even more as it’s mixed with the smell doesn’t get rid of it 😂😂😂😂

We bathed daily from 8 weeks cause he would scream the entire time if we tried to do a wipe down cleaning… I use bath water with a dash of breastmilk in and after drying him we use some lotion to baby massage. More recently we’ve introduced a body wash but only use that 2/3 times a week. Haven’t had any dry skin issues which I think is down to the milky bath but could just be different babies reacting differently!!

I've always done it only twice a week since the beginning. Obviously more if needed but usually on Tuesdays and Fridays

We bath 2 or 3 times a week cause my LG hates it! Just using water at the moment but may add gentle products at 3 months

My little girl absolutely loves her bath time, I told HV I bathed her. Every night she said if that’s your routine that’s fine but don’t always need to use. Soap etc. I mainly do it so she knows it’s nearly bed time so time to relax, and doing so she has a full nights sleep and when she wakes up she’s more relaxed. Too if it works for you then it works for you

Thank you xx

I personally think water is fine every night, but only soap every other day or even every 2-3 days. Soap can strip natural oils from the skin and make it dry
