Weaning

With my first baby, I waited until 6 months to wean but my almost 5 month old is showing all the signs of weaning. Has anybody else started weaning early?

We haven’t started early. I know some people do start early, which is their choice.
I can see my little boy getting there soon, he does still have the tongue thrust reflex, but he’s only 20 weeks. I’m still planning to wait until around 26 weeks because there’s no way to know that his gut is mature enough, even with all the outward signs. I think the visible signs are more of an indicator that they’re less likely to choke, but we can’t know what’s going on inside of them.
Obviously every baby is different, and you’ve got experience with your first baby.
If you’re leaning towards starting early, maybe talk to the health visiting team for an opinion?
