Hi mamas! 🤍 My little girl is coming up six weeks on Sunday however in the past week or so she has started thrashing her head around somewhat aggressively when I try to rest her on my chest or when I hold her. Any ideas what this means as she does it even after she’s been fed and nappy changed! It feels like she’s frustrated but no idea why! Any advice would be appreciated!

My girl does this too! I think she’s just trying to get comfy and self-soothe. At this point they’re also trying to coordinate their movements as they gain more control over their little bodies, so become more wriggly!

This is a soothing behaviour, nothing to worry about. It's actually a good sign of healthy development (I would hesitate to call it "self-soothing," per se, because that term just means "calming down from agitated state without assistance,") but yes, it's essentially her learning her own methods to fall asleep.
