Anyone had the second lot of immunisations yet? If so did you give calpol?

I’ve got the second lot today and I’m planning to give calpol 30 mins before like I did last time!

No need for calpol on the second ones xx

Didn’t give any before as my GP says they won’t vaccinate if you have but I know other places still advise to give it beforehand so just check with your GP! I tried to give some straight after in the car park but he spat it all out 🤦🏼♀️ He didn’t react as bad this time round though! First round he had a temp and was generally off for a couple of days, this time round was the same but he was himself again the morning after 💕

I didn't give my little one calpol after his second round of jabs.

The letter i got for the second lot of vaccines say to give Calpol so im planing on it! X

Yeah, I usually give about 15 mins before the appointment so it kicks in at the right time xx

I was advised not to with my first and an hour after them he screamed in pain for ages. Had to give calpol and wait for it to kick in for him to relax. So I’ll be giving it just before this time. They only sometimes say not to as they aren’t having the meningitis dose that causes the temp but that doesn’t allow for any discomfort baby may be in x
He had his this morning, she said there was no need for calpol this time, but he’s a little grizzly and boob doesn’t even seem to be helping x

If baby is grizzly and unhappy then it might be worth giving some. It all depends on your baby and how they react 😊

I didn't use them for the second round xx

my little one had his yesterday and calpol is the only thing helping him relax otherwise he screams uncontrollably and nothing helps
soothe him so i’ve been using it xx

I think they advise no calpol as there’s not a risk of high temp with the second lot of jabs, but I gave mine calpol for the pain of the actual jab. My LG had her jabs today and she’s currently asleep after having had them and she had calpol 30 mins before!

My son had his yesterday and although they say they don’t need it this time my son definitely did and I wish I had given it to him straight away. His temp rose a little and he was really unsettled and grizzly. I ended up giving him 2 doses, 4 hours apart and they helped almost straight away.

No need for Calpol my girl has been fine only had them yesterday xx
