Our little one poops about a million times a day and no matter how quickly we change him, he ends up with sore red bottom...
We used to use yellow Metanium for our first and it worked wonders but sadly has been discontinued...
So far, we've tried: white Metanium, Aveeno nappy cream, Sudosalve, Sudocrem, Weleda nappy cream, coconut oil... Nothing seems to be working! Any other recommendations please?

Hey! Don’t want to sound patronising here, but do you dry him after wiping? We used the Sudosalve which worked for us when we used cotton wool to dry the area before applying 😊 x

Yup, we do the same - dry him with cotton wool before applying anything x

Bepanthen cream is the one we use and baby does very well on it despite frequent changes 😊

I second Bepanthen like Carolina! My baby had nappy rash and 2 uses of the cream made it go away the same day! 😇

We’ve not found anything that works like metanium either 😭

What’s worked for me is avoiding wipes, especially if the skin’s irritated. I just use cotton and water to clean him, then dab a bit of Vaseline on any red areas.

I have found metanium in a few places recently including Asda! I was also under the impression it had been discontinued (and was gutted after it was a lifesaver for our first) but I’m wondering if they had so much stock left they’ve carried on selling it?! I bought it from Asda about 2 months ago, whether it’s still in stock I don’t know x

Also as a nurse (and I’m not teaching anyone to suck eggs) make sure that barrier creams like sudocrem are applied in a THIN layer, you shouldn’t be able to see lots of white cream. I’m sure you’re already aware but worth knowing if you’re not :) x

Bepanthen works for mine as well, plus trying to get enough air between changes.

You can still get metanium from Sainsbury’s we purchased it a few weeks ago! The only cream that actually works! Just not in the yellow packaging anymore and doesn’t come out yellow! It is white 😊

It’s not the same cream the white one, that’s a barrier x

vaseline seems to be working! Can't believe I didn't think to use it earlier x

I'm happy to hear that. ❤️
