Switching from Aptamil Pepti 1 to another “special milk”?

Hi all, hope everyone’s well.
My little girl is 15 weeks old and has suspected CMPA - she’s been on Aptamil Pepti 1 for 7 weeks now and initially it made a huge difference - she was like a different baby!!

However, over the last 10 days she’s been incredibly windy and constantly farting with some loose/mucosy stools (we didn’t think much of it at first as she was absolutely fine otherwise)…but for the last 5/6 days she’s also been incredibly difficult to burp, bringing up her feeds (very unlike her), nasally congested, constipated (opening bowels every 3/4 days) with her bowels being fairly loose, and has the same “griping” pain that she had prior to even starting on the Pepti milk - just generally very unsettled.

Otherwise - no fevers, feeding well, sleeping well (at night - thankfully🤣), plenty of wet nappies etc.

Has anyone had the same problem? I’m seeing our health visitor on Monday and I was thinking of asking about potentially switching her to a different “special milk”.

Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!

My little boy was initially on Pepti 1 and after seeming much better on that formula his symptoms returned after about 4/5 weeks, his symptoms were much the same as your little girls! He was moved onto Neocate which is an amino acid formula and thankfully after almost 4 weeks he is completely settled on that and all of his symptoms have cleared up! I would definitely ask about potentially trying a different formula for her, I hope she feels better soon!

Sounds like you might need an amino acid formula. My girl is on sma alfamino and it has been amazing for her

Oh no! At least she’s not in discomfort with it, will you ask to change her milk again do you think?Xx

thank you so much! Glad your little boy is much better now!🥰

I have and they say to just wait as there isn’t really ‘another milk’ to try. So I’m a little at a loss with it all!xx

thank you! Glad the SMA alfamino has worked for your little one xx

oh no have you tried a few have you? It’s so frustrating when someone tells you to just “give it time”, parenting a baby/child who’s in discomfort all day/every day isn’t easy is it!! Xx

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

Not drinking

I’m going crazy. Baby born at 2.26kg. Slow to put on weight. This last week hasn’t put on any. Been trying to feed him at night and he’s not interested at all. Fast asleep. During day he will have 5 minute gulps and that’s it. He don’t cry for milk. I’ve got to keep offering to him. I try to offer it every hour but I don’t know what I’m doing. HV said nutrition comes after 5 minutes so I should pump first and then give him. I find it so hard. I tried to pump one boob nothing came. The other abit came. Tried giving him express he’s not interested in that too. Sometimes he will go for a longer a feed but not long at all. He’s 4 months and is currently 5.46kg. I have no family or friend support here and wish I had a cook, cleaner and nanny to help with everything so I can concentrate on the little one. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I’m loosing it. It doesn’t help that my also stressed generally about my relationship and life circumstances. Any advice that will work. Any comfort you can give. I’m fed up. Is this regression - not feeding. He’s fast fast asleep. I’ve been trying to push the nipple in but that mouth is closed shut. I took some clothes off. Changed his nappy but he’s still asleep. Please help

Am I wrong?

I’ve been wanting to add more garden beds to my garden. Husband says “hey do you want to go to Home Depot to get that wood for the garden beds.” Cool I’m excited I’ve been wanting to get this done for awhile.

We get there and we’re picking out wood and I make 2 comments about how I don’t like how 2 pieces of wood look that he picked out. And he says if you’re going to be this picky then u can do this yourself.

I literally made 2 comments and mind you I’m the one paying for the wood.

I felt dismissed and like my opinion didn’t matter and if I wanted to have an opinion then I need to do it myself. Like what?

It was rude and not okay. Am I wrong? Am I overreacting?

He thinks it was fine that he said that.

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
