We don’t know what we’re having yet, but I’m convinced it’s a boy, and I’m stressing about the name as that was the HARDEST part of having my first born!
I’m keen to hear from fellow UK peeps. My first born is Ronnie.
I looove short ‘ie’ names but scared if I go with Alfie, Archie, Freddy etc we’ll just end up being the Krays. Never came across the name Boise/Boisie before, but I love the uniqueness and how it sounds with Ronnie.
However, I’m worried that the ‘uniqueness’ is due to Boise/Boisie/Boycie not really being a first name but more of a nickname (the guy from only fools and horses)/family name (same as Ronnie really), so I’m afraid it will just sound silly.
What do you think? I’m also thinking of names that would have Boisie as nickname.

As you’re asking for opinion… I personally don’t like it. It sounds a bit like “noisy” 🤷🏻♀️ this is what came up to me when I read your post
thank you! That’s really helpful, yes asking for opinions and first thoughts when people hear it. Unfortunately can’t go around asking friends and family or they’ll start suspecting something 🤣

Reminds me of only fools and horses, but I think because that’s probably the most famous use of the name. His generation most likely won’t know who that is, if you like it use it! Older people will likely mention the only fools reference, but i reckon that will go away with time🤷♀️

Also think it looks better spelt Boyce or Boycie xx

I'm personally not a fan, but I'd say if you spell it Boise or Boisie then he may have his name mispronounced (or people might question the pronunciation) throughout his life. It will only be an issue for you for a while, but could be something that bothers him (or doesnt!) for the rest of his life x
