Has anyone tried Mounjaro that new weightloss injection pen?

Is it worth it? My sister and her friends have tried it and lost weight but they also didn't need it in the first place. They even told me they lied about their weight ect to get it...so i want to hear from the people who have actually had it when they 'needed' to

Yep lost 4 stone on it since Jan. I have a friend who has lost 8 stone on it since last year and another who has lost 3.

You can’t lie about your weight now to a subscriber, they have scrupulous checks in place and also will check with your medical records at your GP practice to confirm. You also have to take photos of your body with a newspaper to show that it is even you as well.

@Neena oh wow well done to you all! See I thought that but apparently it was just sent to the GP so they knew they were taking it and nothing else unless it's changed but they've been using it the last few months

I'm on wegovy and honestly it's the only thing that stopped me gaining an insane amount of weight after baby - I was eating like mad 🤣 I haven't weighed myself in a while so dno how much I've lost (definitely around 3 stone) but for me it just helped me stop boredom/over eating while on maternity leave x

My friend lied about her weight and got the script for it too

Avatar

@Felicity well done!! Yeah that's my main issue I could go all day without eating but then the boredom kicks in of a night and I just want to snack so it definitely doesn't help😂 x

I ordered today from Asda uk. I had to take photos of the scales and two of my body.

It has changed since around Jan, most prescribers will either video call/Facetime you to confirm it is you and to also get full body shot, or they’ll require you to take a full body pic with newspaper before fulfilling the prescription.

You’ll also get asked more in depth health questions and some will even wait to hear back from your GP to see if anything untowards in your medical records before prescribing. There was a lot of uproar about it last year before it came into place.

Even with changing prescribers they’ll still want to do their own checks.

This is for the UK though, no idea what it’s like in the US or elsewhere.

It's like £50/60 quid cheaper per pen now too - was more expensive when I started last October 🤑🤢

My grandma lost 40ish lbs on it but now has a tone of loose skin

Avatar

@Neena thanks that's really helpful! What website have you gone through? I'm looking a med express but there's so many selling it

Avatar

@Helen oh wow that simple?

I’ve lost 3 stone since the end of Jan and am now stopping and am going to do the last stone by myself.
I used monj.co.uk as it lists all the prices and codes. I’ve had a call from my gp surgery just asking me if I am on mj as they now have to notify the health service.

There is a reason why this has such huge criteria for nhs to prescribe which starts this week but there is a reason why! People are buying it loosing weight but do any of you know the long term effects of it? Where your buying it who is monitoring your BP and checking your bloods as in time this will all fall back on to nhs to look after the people who decided to buy it. It all sounds great but question this, did those people have the Covid jab or were they in the group that didn’t have it because they didn’t know what was in it or the long term effects??? Same with this jab. People are buying privately but when Ill who will have to look after them? As I’m sure they won’t then pay private for treatment and expect the nhs to then look after them 🤔🤯 This is causing huge heart problems, people blacking out, blood problems, do people know you should be using contraception if you use it as it can over ride the pill etc??? The short term loss is amazing but no one knows long

I’m 1 point off being diabetic. I had GD in pregnancy and lost 2st while pregnant. I’m an older mum at 40 so for me I’d rather get help now.
As adults we all make choices. And the ladies here have made their choice.

Avatar

absolutely and I’m not against people making choices, but in 5 years nhs are going to be struggling having to deal with all the back log of people who have effects from something that is not tested and doesn’t know the long term effects of it. As someone who works for the NHS it’s frustrating to see. People are having great outcomes for now but it will be us picking up the pieces. Hopefully in 5 years time it will be the case if you paid private for the jab then you pay private for the after care.

I’m on Tirzepatide which is the same thing as mounjoro I just get it from a compounding pharmacy. 100% worth it.

Avatar

Started 4 weeks ago and lost 13lb so far. No side effects either!

Avatar

I’ve been on it since Feb and lost nearly 4 stone 😊

Avatar

It doesn't actually work

Avatar

I think it does given how many women have commented on this 🫣

Avatar

My husband has tried it for 3 months now and lost literally no weight

Avatar

Maybe works for some and not others

Avatar

definitely! You’ve also got to change your diet & exercise to really help. It’s not magic so you’ve got to change up what you’re doing. I’ve lost almost 4 stone so it definitely works

Avatar

my father in law is on it but was actually through nhs and he lost a few stone and then it stopped. But as above I’m glad it has stopped and not worked as least he won’t get long term issues from it x

Avatar

Yes. Don’t want anyone having those long term issues like reduced heart disease and reduced kidney disease 😂

Avatar

exactly this 😂

I have lost 3stone and 2.5lbs on it so far. I started mid Feb and I am so happy on it. It’s a game changer for me xx

Avatar

hey! it’s been the best thing ever for me! i’m have a code for £40 off with medexpress which is AGJ8A2 :) xx

I'm on weygovy. I was on Munjaro but once the price went up I couldn't afford it.
I have had no side effects at all but please do your research as some people do experience gallbladder issues as well as the more common side effects of nausea etc.

I order mine through Juniper. They have a good app you can use along side it that has exercises, meals etc and you also get free Bluetooth weighing scales that add your weight straight to your app when you stand on them and plots it on a graph which is handy. You get a tape measure also.

If you do want to try it here's a discount code
