Okay interesting I see, interesting! In the UK, we usually tend to refer to ourselves based on the country our parents or family are culturally from — like Jamaican, Nigerian, or Pakistani — rather than just saying ‘Black’ or ‘Asian’. It’s always fascinating to see how identity is expressed differently depending on where you are.

that is so interesting, and makes a lot of sense!! I think for African Americans we have a unique experience since a lot of us are usually not really sure where our ancestors originated, due to slavery. So black and African American tend to be interchangeable identifiers here in the U.S.! Ofc I can’t speak for all of us, but at least from my experience!

why are you in this group if you feel that way? This is a group for moms with mixed babies. We’re just here loving our babies. Your judgement is unnecessary.

Not to mention that the vast majority of us just happen to have mixed kids because we’re mixed and/or in interracial relationships. I didn’t actively seek having a mixed child. I literally am simply mixed myself and fell in love with someone of a different race. Not everything is that deep. We’re just proud of our kids.

@Hope I wouldn't say im obsessed with mix kids. My wife is German and Irish. I carried for us and it was important to her and to me that our child had both of our ethnicities and we chose a donor with her same back ground and physical features in the hopes that baby would have similar features to her...because they absolutely would have my features. I love that when shes out with our daughter people think she birthed her❤️. If I had fallen in love with someone else I would have chosen a donor with their background.
