I quit vaping while I was pregnant. But immediately post partum I started having cravings again and everyone around me vapes. I have been occasionally vaping, but the addiction is definitely back. I hear so many mixed opinions on the risks of nicotine in breast milk. A lactation specialist told me the benefits of breastfeeding out weigh the risks of vaping while breast feeding. But I still get worried. Has any other mom smoked while breast feeding or have any advice? Thanks!

I vape and exclusively breastfeed. I typically vape right after I breast feed to minimize nicotine exposure. My baby is healthy and he’s thriving with weight and hight. Typically I only vape outside and right after he’s done breastfeeding. I don’t vape before
how long do you stop vaping before breastfeeding? I vape all throughout the day so it’s hard for me to time it out since my baby feeds on demand 😖

My baby feeds on demand too, I just take a couple hits throughout the day to quench the need. Usually it would be an hour as soon as he unlatches. Usually my little guy would nurse every two- three hours so one hour I get free reign. I try to restrain myself from vaping after the hour and then look at it as treat after the next feed

I was the same i quit during pregnancy and started when my LO was about 3 weeks. My health visitor told me it was better to vape and have that one thing that gives me 5 minutes to myself to relax or reset than it was to try and stop. I exclusively breastfed for 4 months and they never mentioned anything about it being harmful. I always vape outside and never near my baby.
did u time out when you vape and breastfed? Or would u vape throughout the day and breastfeed whenever? Im just so worried about when im vaping, and if it feed her too soon after. I hear so many mixed opinions.

Honestly i didnt time it, i didnt vape too much anyway as my little one was attached to me most of the time and she fed on demand. It would normally work out id have time to go outside after a feed as she would be content to stay with her dad but my health visitor had no concerns about nicotine being passed through breast milk so i didnt stress myself about it
sorry lol I have so many questions. Did u ask your primary care doctor, obgyn, or your babies pediatrician?

No need to apologise, im from the uk so not sure how different it is over here. But my babys health visitor wasnt concerned and neither was her doctor. I had quite a few medical professionals involved for her as we had a lot of issues with feeding/latching and not one of them expressed any concerns
