Gaviscon and Constipation
My son is nearly 1 month and has been on gaviscon for the last week to try and help his silent reflux. It has definitely made a difference but he is now insanely constipated and in pain with that.
Any suggestions on how to help?
I’m contemplating trying an anti-reflux formula as he’s currently only on breast milk but not sure if this is worth it? I’ve seen people use omeprazole, lactulose or probiotics as well. Has anyone used these or got recommendations??

Do doctors and ask for them to give u lactulose if u want to continue gaviscon its very common for these medications to be prescribed together. Omeprazole is another option but it has its own side affects such as increased risk of infections, decreases bone strength as it sucks the calcium out of bones, can cause stomach problems with long term use. So its a fun game of weighing up which side affects are worse for the use of the medication x
