Anyone given birth recently at Homerton? I have a few questions ☺️ I’m due at the start of August!

I have and I loved it!
It seems to have recently closed applications to anyone who doesn’t live in the catchment area as it is in so much demand. In my opinion- it’s incredible there.
I personally had an outstanding experience there and really disappointed that if I’m having another baby - I’ll need to go elsewhere 😔😔😔😔

that’s reassuring! I’ve had really positive antenatal appointments so far but have heard mixed opinions on labour and delivery!
Do you know if they would provide milk if I struggle to breastfeed? Or do I need to bring my own?

I think as standard all hospitals have it there. But also baby won’t have breast milk straight away, it will be colostrum. Some people, with midwife approval, harvest colostrum from 37 weeks, freeze it and use it as backup in the first few days.
Also one thing I love about Homerton is that they have antenatal sessions- they do optional classes to give you general information but also info about their specific approach and options on things like pain relief and practicalities of actual birth and how their rooms work etc

@Barbra thanks a lot for the useful info, I have been going to Homerton and this is reassuring...do you know where i can find the antenatal classes or how to book?

all booked up. I was just trying to book it too 😭
