Do you use a wipe to clean baby even if its just a wee? Boy and girl

I saw a tiktok today and all the comments were people saying they don't use a wipe everytime they change a diaper only if it's poo. And I can understand like if wipes and all the moisture or something is creating an issue, but I genuinely can't imagine changing my girls diaper and not wiping... Like pee is acidic and more importantly human waste! I wouldn't want that on my skin even for a minute or two without at the very least using a wipe.... So now I'm curious if this is more normal than I think? 🤔

Wipe every time! We always wipe after going to the toilet so what’s the difference? If anything i think it’s more important to wipe a baby every time because they’ll have it against their skin for a bit x

that was my thinking too!

Eww absolutely wipe every time. I don’t just pee and walk off so why should they sit in it 😂🤢

Wipe every time, and yes I've heard it's "bad" because of the contents in the wipes but if people are that worried, wipe with cloth wipes and water, but it's not right to leave pee soaking into their pores.

Wipe everytime but more of a pat with the wipe if that makes sense. Then give 30 seconds or so to let their skin dry.

You wouldn’t not wipe yourself so why wouldn’t you wipe your baby

I usually don’t wipe if it is just pee because modern nappies are very absorbent and leave the skin dry. Actually wet wipes are more of an irritant to the skin than urine.

Diapers are absorbent but they don’t absorb everything and for me the benefits of wiping outweigh the risks. Especially if you’re using gentle water wipes or just some plain water with a cloth. It’s all about finding the right balance for your baby though. Urine acidity and skin sensitivity will vary from baby to baby so some may be fine with no wiping whereas others wouldn’t be. Unless you’re neglecting or not cleaning your child I think it’s whatever works best for you.

Wipe all the time! WTF.... If you wouldn't go without wiping then doing it to your baby is neglect. Doesn't matter how absorbent the diaper is, there is still pee residue 🤦‍♀️ this is why baby's get diaper rashes and infections smh.

I use cloth wipes I wipe every time then use a dry one to pat dry.

Yes because if you don't wipe it will leave urine on the skin, it will smell and then also major rashes will form because of bacteria in that area🦠 especially in the heat it's really unfair on baby

When she was newborn I used to use cotton pads and water if it was just a wee and wipes for poops. Would never not wipe her when changing!

You have to wipe if in diapers. Boys not so much after they use toilet to pee
