We went pram shopping at the weekend and the sales lady has blown my mind.
For some reason I always thought “Joie” was pronounced like “Joey” but she told me it’s actually “joy”
Does everyone know this? Am I just stupid 🤣🤦🏼♀️

Not at all!! I thought it was Joey too, like a play on the name of a baby kangaroo. 😆

It’s a French word, needs to be pronounced « Jwa »

Yea it’s not Joy either?! Like said, its a soft j(like the end of “garage”) and “wah” like the first sound in “wash”
Zhwah!

I thought it was zh-oy 😂

I knew, but that's just because I studied French.

You explained it so much better than I did 😂

My name is Joy! My question is why would they spell it Joie 😂

Technically it’s a french word and it is pronounced “jwa” but…everyone pronounces it “Joey” for some reason 😭😂
I never actually thought of it like this just thought it was joey 🤣
you and blowing my mind even more! Might go back and tell her how to pronounce it properly with how patronising she was to me about it 🤣🤣
ok this makes me feel better I thought I’d got joey out of nowhere 🤣🤣

I’ve heard a sales assistant call it “Joey”
I got confused because I called it Joy
😂

It is "Jwah" to me, as in Joie de Vivre.

I though it was pronounced like joyie😭
