We all know how expensive holidays are during the summer hols/peak season, but there's also a range and I'm wondering do people compromise on the resort/AI package to bring prices down, or is it widely accepted that you gotta pay what you gotta pay during the summer hols when you have kids.....

I think that sounds pretty good: for all inclusive, 2 adults, 2 children in peak time.

With the age of the children is there a specific reason for doing school holidays??

No. It’s costing us 4k to go to Florida for 2 weeks in August obviously not all inclusive and that’s for 3a (including my 15yr old) and one child.
Are you teachers by any chance as struggling to work out why you would pick then.

We're going to go away but avoiding summer hols / peak season due to the heat for LO and the cost for the next few years at least.

We’ve been looking for the summer hols and have found the really nice ones to be over £4k some were close to 6/7 😱 it’s outrageous!

That’s way too expensive. I wouldn’t spend more than 2 k for a week

I wouldn’t take a baby on holiday tbh. It isn’t worth the money. Did it once and regretted it intensely and we only did a staycation in the Uk with family. I would wait until the baby is at least a year old as dealing with formula and meals on holiday is a nightmare.

I think if it’s a nice resort and you are paying for toddler (over 3 years old) then that price is fair. If you’re wanting cheaper, air bnb and flights but AI is easier as no cooking for a week😅

That sounds like a fair price for a really good resort. And you won't need to spend extra money during. You can def find something a little cheaper. The toddler and baby should technically be free

I would tbh, I’ve always really loved taking my girl on holidays even when she was a baby x

If it was a nice resort I'd pay it. I wouldn't want to spend £5k and only have the option of buffet for mealtimes or have to search high and low for sunbeds by the pool. Usually you don't pay for an infant either, we never did.

this is what I feel too

I'd be searching for free child places if you can and depending on the babies age they would be free automatically. I'd be thinking more 2 to 3 grand probably if you shop around. And like others have said, why would you go in August unless you are a teacher or something, you don't have school age kids yet
