Nutramigen to Neocate

Can anyone share their experience switching from nutramigen to neocate?

Google seems to show that neocate is awful and makes baby worse which I really don’t want to happen! She’s currently projectile vommiting her feeds, in abdominal discomfort and extremely watery stools!

I just want her to be free of pain now!😭

Mine didn’t react well to it and we went back to Nutramigen after just 6 bottles of Neocate. My LG wasn’t a sicky baby and she was sick (not loads) after every bottle of Neocate. But I know people who had the opposite reaction, so it’s a case of you have to try. At least you will know very quickly if it makes a difference either way

My baby girl thrived after changing from nutramigen to neocate! I put off trying for a few weeks bc I was worried she was gonna be even worse but she’s had a really good reaction to it! Defo worth a try and you’ll know quickly if it’s working for her xx

We started off on nutramigen, and it didn't do much, then went onto aptamil pepti 1 syneo and that helped but she was still symptomatic so now on neocate syneo, and it's still too early to tell as we've just changed onto it, but so far so good.

It's just a case of trying, annoyingly every baby reacts differently so it's not one milk fits all.

My baby was projectile vomiting from Neocate. Mucus poop from nutramigen. We went down the line and ended on Enfamil prosobee (soy) as doctor recommended plant based for us. I’ve heard good things about elevate as far as amino acid based formulas go. Every baby is different though. Is baby gaining weight properly? Have you ruled out reflux or had any allergy testing done? A lot of times cmpa and soy allergy can go hand in hand so trying soy should be last resort. We ended up getting baby on med for reflux after seeing pediatric GI specialist which helped with the vomiting that was so severe it was causing slow weight gain. They had us fortify her feeds for a while too til weight was back up. Treating symptoms as you find the right formula is the best you can do mama. There is gas drops or reflux meds that can be prescribed if needed. Mylicon didn’t work for us. Fridawindis helped sometimes, they also make these baby Velcro heating pads that you can buy on Amazon!!

My daughter had nutramigen and after 2 weeks her skin was bad and her poo was runny.I went doctors twice and eventually ended up at A&E. It was there that the doctor said nutramigen contains a small amount of milk. This was why my daughter had a reaction stil. Now she’s on neonate she’s much better.
I would give neocate a try xx

We’re on day 3 of neocate as we switched from Nutramigen, not much change at the moment, he’s constipated and discomfort with his stomach, stools are firmer and he strains abit, Skin is still bad but not sure if it’s due to the heat we have here plus baby acne. He’s still crying ALOT and has been to the drs 5x already in the last month, which sucks as he’s only a month old today. He was on Nutramigen for 11 days and there weren’t much change in him. Hoping neocate is the answer as I’m so exhausted having an unhappy baby and feeling useless/helpless plus dividing my time between a newborn and 2 year old 😓
