Advice on cat leg/foot wound
My cat (10 months old) has managed to injure herself, the best way I can describe it is like she’s pulled or sliced the top layers of skin off and the skin/fur of this ‘missing area’ is flapping, as in it will flap back down flat and you wouldn’t even see it.
She is perfectly fine in herself, eating, drinking, playing, purring making biscuits her usual happy self!
she has no limp, no blood is coming from the wound and as far as we are aware it hasn’t unless she licked it off prior this morning and it’s not visibly obvious that she’s hurt herself other than the wound itself.
I’ve managed to clean/antiseptic the area (she wasn’t a fan) and put a small gauze/bandage over it. She is now also wearing the cone of shame to prevent licking!
Do we think the vet is 100% a necessity?
Being a Sunday there isn’t an awful lot I can do in that department anyway..
Any extra advice?
We’re keeping an eye on her she’s currently asleep after a snack!

I would say take her to the vets so they can give her an injection for any pain relief and avoid infection they may give you something for the wound too but she’d be okay to go tomorrow to avoid weekend vet fees x
yes I’ve messaged her vet as they have an app they use with basically what I wrote on here with the pics. I’ve redressed it and the skin has like ‘stuck’ back down for now I was not moving it to disturb it.. so just cleaned around best I could again and it’s wrapped up. She’s still eating and her usual self so I’ll see what the vets say when they respond to me in the morning! Thanks :)
