Hi, my combination fed 6 month old has been slightly constipated for a while but recently has started having diarrhoea which I read is paradoxical diarrhoea, (basically the body trying to expel waste around the hard stool) she’s in such pain as she can’t pass it which before she would be able to,
We’ve given her veg etc to try and help soften it, sips of water with food
She’s well in herself, no fever etc, feeding ok but I’m worried, has anyone had this happen before? Any advice?

Try Microlax enema. It helped so many times when baby was constipated. First time I used it when baby was two month old.

Pear and Apple puree is meant to be super helpful too. It’s something to do with the type of sugar in them. It helped my daughter when she was constipated.
Or Apple juice but I didn’t want to give her Apple juice. I was stressed about the sugar 🤦🏻♀️😂
If all else fails call the gp. We were given a suppository that we could administer at home and within 10 minutes she her bowls had a good clear out (poonami tsunami 😂) and was much more comfortable in herself.

Prune purees or apple puree. If nothing works go to the GP - I went to the GP for my LO being constipated for over a week and the GP gave her lactulose...after a day of giving it to her she pooped so much and looked so much happier. Natural methods are Ewood but when all else fails best to go t9 the GP
