MAM bottle teats

My boy uses the MAM bottles and we have the 0 sized teat (extra slow flow) and the 1 size teat for slow flow. He’s 8 weeks old now and he’s been on the 0 sized teats until now because the size 1 seems to be too much flow for him and he’s guzzling his milk too quickly. I’m frightened he’ll choke.

Does anyone still use the size 0 teat after 8 weeks? I’m mindful to keep him on them but not sure how long for. It just says on their website that size 0 and 1 are from 0+ but not sure how long this is until or what age etc .

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

My baby is 7 weeks old today and has been on size 1 for a couple of weeks. MAM suggest size 2 or medium flow teats from 2+ months, but it's important to observe your baby's feeding cues to determine if they are ready for the next size up or not.
If your baby seems frustrated with the bottle or takes too long feeding, it might be time to move up.
Also it’s ok to stop them mid feed to avoid them guzzling the milk, and to help them burp. Every baby is different, so go at your own pace and do what’s comfortable for you.

My baby turned 12 weeks yesterday and is still on size 0 mam teat the size 1 seems to choke her and she panics on the bottle so currently sticking with size 0 each baby is different ☺️

So we are 7 weeks and have been on the size 2 for about 10 days.

She doesnt get on with the veriflow which is size 1. And size 0 was too slow for her.

I get no dribbles and minimal burps from the size 2.

But she'd scream and gag from the size 1s.

My boy is 9 weeks and he’s still on the 0 size teats…

He just chokes on the size 1 and guzzles so much.. so we’re happy just sticking with these for a while longer xx

My daughter is 9 weeks and is on size 2 we knew she needed to size up as because she would just fall asleep every feed half way then wake up 10-15 mins hungry took us a few days to be sure, we tried size 2 on a few feeds to slow transition and now she’s taking size 2 absolutely fine

My baby is 9 weeks and he’s using both size 0 and 1. Something that my midwife said and stuck with me.. “if you were to breastfeed, would your nipple and flow grow with the baby or would it be the same?”
If your baby is happy and eating, it’s all that matters. 💞

My Feeding Consultant from the Health Visitor team told me not to worry about changing teats from 0 as the breast only has 1 flow, no choice there...🤓

My baby is 7 weeks old and used to take a size 1 teat, we’ve had to swap back to 0 as she kept spitting it out and coughing

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
