Has this happened to anyone else’s mam bottles?

I’m slightly annoyed these bottles were brand new when baby was born. He’s 4 months old and only started to use them at 2 1/2 months. Yet the measurements are coming off. We do cold water sterilising and he rotates between seven bottles so only using once a day 🙃

I feel like this isn’t normal, and how am I meant to measure his water if the markings have worn off 🫣

I use these bottles and this hasn’t happened to, but I sterilise in the microwave. Maybe it’s because you’re using the cold water steriliser? Xx

It hasn’t happened to mine & we’ve been using them for the whole 4 months pretty much. We also sterilise in the microwave though so maybe it is your steriliser or just a bad batch 😥

i’ve been using them for 4 months and had no problems, but i sterilise them in the microwave x

I also do cold water sterilising and it did the same to all our tommee tippee bottles, we now have mam bottles and they haven’t rubbed off yet xx

I haven’t had this happening to our bottles either. Might be worth contacting Mam’s customer service! I’ve seen some mamas on an FB group have same issues and think Mam sent out new ones to them.

Mine have all done the same, with my first and again this time. I use the cold water steriliser as well so I'm assuming it's that. It's quite annoying! X

I microwave sterilise and have some bottles that I’m using now with my second baby, that I also used with my first, and no measurements have come off!

Avatar

I know it sounds silly but are you using 5L of water for sterilising? I found that I accidentally was using 2.5 L it started happening

I’ve been using mam bottles for 3 years (with my daughter and now with my son) and they’re still good as new but I microwave sterilise

Had these for 4 month and still like new in terms of the prints on them. I do steam sterilising tho, might be the Milton doing it

I have two different sets, one with the beige bottom and one with the grey. It only has happened to the grey ones (and they’re newer) but not the beige ones..

Thank you everyone. We don’t have a microwave so that’s why we opted for cold water, also it’s what our midwives & health visitors recommended as the best option. I still don’t think the markings should come off no matter what way you sterilise them. Especially after 2.5 months, my smaller bottles never did that and they were used a lot more frequently as I only had 3/4 of the smaller sizes so wasn’t rotated as much. I have contacted mam customer support to see what they say, I ideally don’t want to have to buy more as I’ll end up spending a fortune if it happens every few months.

It’s total preference, but some places like facebook marketplace and vinted just sell the bottle part for quite cheap. But that’s up to you about using second hand x

Avatar

We used them since birth and it’s not happened. We used the tommee tippee steriliser with them as well. I’d contact them x

Avatar

I’m pretty sure you can email them and they will replace them for you.. I feel like I seen this on a post in first time mums group on Facebook xx

Avatar

I’ve used MAM since birth too but I UV sterilise and never had any problems xx

Avatar

We used the cold water steriliser for our first and this happened to ours too, we’re using a uv steriliser this time and it hasn’t happened yet, although we are using them far less as our first was formula fed and our second is breastfed with an occasional expressed bottle x

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
