Hi everyone
My girl is over 6 months now and for the last month or so she has been going through a bottle aversion. I have been feeding her constantly while she is asleep or drowsy to keep the weight and hydration. But I really can’t be doing this anymore, and want to fix the aversion. Rowena Bennet? I’ve done some research but I don’t have time to read the book as I have twins!! Can anyone who used the rowena bennet method break it down for me please? And did it work for you? How long did it last? I’ve started today, going on holiday on Friday so I really hope it resolves in some way. Thanks

I would make sure you’re not forcing the bottle into her mouth, try different feeding positions like lying down on her back head to the side. Lying on side bottle in her mouth, just not holding her while you feed.
Try a bit of sweet puree in the bottle like maybe some berry.
If you’re giving breast milk make sure you’re not eating heaps of anything that might be causing her tummy distress like garlic, tons of onions, body armour.
Is she drinking a bit then crying? Refusing? Look into reflux it doesn’t only come up when they’re first born it can happen later.
If she is formula fed consider trying other formulas. The pediatrician should have samples of different brands.
And during the day when she is being fussy try letting her take the bottle in her hands and assist with guiding if needed but don’t force it. If she wants to be done after a minute let her and try again in 5.

We went through a wicked bottle aversion as well I hope one of those suggestions can help!
Thanks for the tips my lovely but I have tried everything and done a lot of research to get to this point. That’s why I am trying to Rowena bennet methond now as last resort x
how did you come over yours? X

I totally understand. If you haven’t already asked your pediatrician I might suggest testing a lower dose of omeprazole to rule out reflux. Our baby had it horrible and that was the only thing which ended up proving relief.
