I’m only 13 weeks and I’ve gained 30 pounds. I was already in the 200s. This is my first pregnancy. I don’t know what to do. Do I lose the weight or try to maintain it? I heard it’s not good to intentionally lose weight while pregnant. I’m having other isssues and my dr recommended me to not exercise right now

Everyone is different and hormones affect everyone differently too, I am 34 weeks tomorrow and so far gained almost 10 pounds in the whole pregnancy. I never exercised, just went on walks and occasional swimming session. I wouldn't try to intentionally lose weight, but definitely try to make better food choices for you and your baby, drink plenty of water and folic acid, ask your OB if you can go for walks, it is both good for baby oxygen levels, your mental health and overall well-being. But at the end of the day don't stress yourself too much about weight gain, just make good choices for both you and your baby. Hope it helps

I gained weight really fast in the first and second trimesters but it slowed way down in the third. Don’t worry, your body knows what to do.
