TSH levels

Hi ladies,

My fertility specialist put me on 25mg thyroxine to help my tsh levels which were 3.4 at the time and they helped them go to 1. I have been on it since 2022 and had a child since. I recently tested my levels again and they are now 3.2 despite being on the 25mg dose. Now im not sure why its gone uo and I dont want the GP to suggest to just up my dose to 50mg....where does it end? In a few years time other might have to go uk again and my thyroid would have been fried by then! Any tips?

I think they will change the dose and have your bloods done again regularly to check your levels are stable. If not they will change again until they are. I had my dose changed 4 times, and they said if they couldn’t stabilise it on the last change that I would have the option of a thyroidectomy or iodine treatment to completely stop the thyroid working. Resulting in life long medication.

Some people refuse all treatment as it’s not the thyroid that’s causing the problem, just a victim of the Graves’ disease/hashimotos disease which was causing the thyroid to act up.

Thing is i realised I made a mistake and didnt come off the thyroxine after pregnancy I thought I'd have to stay on it and maybe I did want to stay on it incase i gained weight. Before the thyroxine I was gaining so much weight and I wasn't even eating much

My problems with my thyroid only started after having my kids so I’m not sure about medication while being pregnant. I ironically went to the GP because I was putting on weight for no reason - to be told I had hyperactive thyroid and Graves’ disease which generally makes you lose weight! My specialist then told me that it does make some people gain though. My levels are stable and “in range” now but I’m still throwing it on like it’s a hobby and I’m barely eating a thing now because I’m so depressed about it all and waiting lists for help is, no word of a lie, 8/9 years.

After 18months in total of being on Carbimazole, my specialist said that he wanted to trial me completely off meds. Apparently this can shock the thyroid into staying in range on its own. I’ve been off meds now since February, feel just as awful as before I was medicated and while medicated. Had my bloods done 4 times and have all been in the “normal” range. From research the normal range is “about right” but not always optimal. And I’m still suffering with the Graves’ disease which caused my thyroid problems. It’s awful! I gained 5st in 18months and the doctors have referred me to weight management through a referral and the waiting list is so long I think I’d be bed bound before getting any help. I was 10.5st before all this happening. My doctor has never told me my results. Just their take on them so I’m not actually sure what they are. I haven’t even had my antibodies tested to see if I’m in remission or not. There’s pages on fb I find helpful. It’s surprising how many people go

Pregnancy

I don’t know if it’s my hormones but I really want to have another baby, I don’t know if I sound daft but the second I gave birth I was constantly saying I want more, I don’t know if I just want to relive the days from my baby being a newborn or if I want another child it’s just constantly on my mind, I’ve always said since a child that I wanted 10 babies but I will not be carrying that number out! Maybe 5 🫣

One on one time with each child

Advice please - if you have more than one child, how do you give one on one time to each child? Or how did your mom do this?

I have three and I’ve always thought time should be spent together as a family but I’ve been told that not giving one on one attention to each child can cause resentment.

I’m wondering how I can do this?
Do you take one child to the mall and leave the others at home?

Any other 3-weekers here?!

Hi girls, congrats to those in this group so far!

I’m super impatient so I started testing from 8 DPO 😅 got my faint line then and now dark line at 11 DPO. Feels surreal as I didn’t find out this early with my first and I’m not even due my period yet. Anybody in the same boat? 😅

Trigger shot

So i’m 11 days past trigger shot 9dpo.
Do we think this is real or the trigger lingering? 😭I tested Wednesday night and it was pretty much negative from trigger

IV

Did anyone refuse an IV during labor? If so, did your doc or the hospital try to force it? I’m due May 11 and my doctor is now refusing to deliver my baby because I don’t want an IV. I also don’t want fetal monitoring and he stated I need to do it bc I owe it to my kid. He was fine with it my last appointment and then today he has a huge problem. I also don’t plan on going to the hospital until I am like ready to push. I want to labor at home for as long as possible. I know the reason for the IV. But I’m low risk have had no problems, so there is not a real reason to think something might happen and I might need an IV. I do also want to add that if it becomes medically necessary then of course I will get it. But I don’t want it just because something MIGHT happen.
