Cat keeps cuddling with my 2 month old

My cat keeps wanting to cuddle with my baby boy. The cats just lays on his legs which is cute but I keep moving him and he keeps going back. I don’t know how to stop my cat. He has never laid by his face so I’m not worried of suffocation but I’m worried about him overheating and the cat accidentally claw him.

I doubt he would overheat. Does your cat have a history of clawing you? If not, I wouldn't worry about it either. However, I'd be more concerned if your cat has access to him at night. If your cat does, I'd keep moving them off the baby. I don't mind my cats laying with my baby but we also keep them out of our room at night. I would not feel comfortable with a cat on my baby if I'm not able to watch.

our cat does the same thing! dad doesnt like it but i dont mind as long as im watching. i try not to push her off or upset her as i dont want her resenting the baby and potentially trying to harm baby later on. you just have to remember that pets sense the baby is yours, and they love you so they want to love your creation too!

at night he’s in his room with the door shut it more of when I’m with him I think my cat knows that he’s my baby and he know that he is also my baby so maybe he just wants to be with us because he will normally fallow me around unless I’m laying down with my boy

I’ve read about people using a mosquito net over the bassinet to keep the cat away.

Yeah I'd say that is pretty normal. I had a lap cat before my baby and she still gets on me even if the baby is there. I don't think your cat is doing anything bad, I would just be aware not to leave baby alone with the cat for long. Or put the baby in a playpen or somewhere the cat won't go if you have to use the restroom or do something.

As long as you’re present, I don’t think you should worry. When my son was a baby we had a kitten & they were the best of friends. Napped together & went on adventures around the house together. That cat adored my son. You know your pet best at the end of the day.
