Casting

We always took it off at 10am for a 12pm appointment day of. That way I had enough time to bathe him and get him dressed and fed and to the appointment. My doctor told me not to take it off too early because it can cause a relapse.

We did day of. His appointments were always between 12-2pm, so we'd take it off after breakfast, do a bath, new outfit and milk before we had to head out to get a new cast. I think we'd usually have like 3 hours with no cast, to give a break but not too long in case of relapse.
We only took it off once the night before, and that was because his appointment was at 7am, so the dr said we could do the night before so we weren't awake at like 4am getting him wet. Cast removal always took us about 1 hour. Our Dr said soak for 10 minutes, but that was never enough time for us, we needed like 30 minutes of soaking time to remove the casts.

his appt is at 9am. I don’t want risk any relapse. Think I might let doctor take it off as it is a soft cast. I took one off and he was so fussy

Always did it at the appointment, but that was my hospital’s preference. They wanted to see how the cast was fitting before it came off.
