Sexist line manager (UK)

Before maternity leave I gave hours and these were allocated to work.

Now they want to give me hours and make me do less favourable work (I have never done this type of work with them before).basically, they want the best work to go to the men.

How can I fight back?

By gave hours, I mean gave my availability.

It's unusual to be able to set your own hours. How often did you do this? Was it a discussion at the start of your employment and stuck to or was it something that changed on a weekly/monthly basis? What do you do?

Do you feel you have evidence that they want the 'best work' to go to men? As in, is it that they're men rather than that they're just available at certain reliable times that you are not? If you do then you could defo have an argument!

How you define 'best work' would also be good to know. Do you get more commission doing that? What's better about it?

They can’t change your job when you return from maternity leave to anything less favourable - but it depends what your contract says as they would be the job you return to. You can ring pregnant then screwed for free legal advice x
