If you had to pick a town for a family of two under two which one would you move to?

Can I ask where you are moving from and the reason why you are moving?

I also noticed these locations are more central PA, do you prefer a more rural experience?

I know it's not listed, but Mechanicsburg!

was considering this town but was told about the lack of diversity

Have you looked into to any of the suburbs of Lehigh Valley? Lots of wonderful neighborhoods where you can slow down a bit, yet with charm, and close to all the family fun and activities for kids. We moved here from NY almost 3 years ago and have been so happy with our choice. Although we live right in Bethlehem which is pretty central, we have explored and experienced many of the close surrounding neighborhoods that have a more rural vibe while still being close enough to many options!!

Lancaster is nice, it’s the heart of Amish country, but I’ve really only been for day/weekend trips. So I can’t say how day to life would be. If you’re looking for a slower pace and want to stay closer to the eastern/southeastern portion of the state, I would recommend western Delaware county and Chester county. There are good school districts, nice neighborhoods with yards, and single family homes. It’s nice if you want the best of the both worlds of suburban/rural slow paced but also can get to the city easily if that’s vibe you want. It’s also a good location if you like going to the shore, whether it’s Delaware, Maryland or NJ beaches.

I don’t know as much about Harrisburg or York/Mechanicsburg.

Oh wow, im sorry you had no luck in the area. We just bought a home and did see quite a range of prices in the entire area and surrounding areas. If you like it, keep looking!! It really is lovely here. 🙏🏼💞 Even btwn here and Stroudsburg there are some nice neighborhoods and youd be btwn 2 larger areas. Best wishes pn your hunt.

Neither pls!!! it’s all ghetto and all bad the crime is crazy and the people are so rude and you’ll have haters everywhere find a nice suburban area nothing in the cites wish the best for your families

There is a decent amount of diversity in Mechanicsburg, in my opinion

is mt wolf decent?

I'm in the Camp Hill area. It's super nice here. I moved from NJ and aaaaanything in PA will be slower than NJ. People are super friendly and the tailgating (if any) is nothing like Jersey. I met someone from Newark and we talked about how different life is out here. I'd say this area (Cumberland county) is really great and most places are close to rt 81 which can get you back to NJ in a couple hours.
