Flying In Pregnacy

I’m currently 22w3 pregnant with our rainbow baby since miscarrying at 8 weeks last year. We’re due to fly to Greece end of September and I’ll be 27 weeks and returning 28w6.

I’ve spoken to my midwife and she has said she’ do a check up and issue a fit to fly two days before we’re due to fly but I’m so anxious - has anyone flown around this gestation and what are people’s thoughts.

Is it safe?

Don’t worry too much.
I miscarried at about the same time last year ( 7-8 weeks).

In this pregnancy I am 22 weeks 3 days and have flown long haul to Saudi Arabia/dubai twice (once first trimester and once now)

Also I’ll be flying to NY at around 28 weeks

Of course get approval from your doctor / midwife but otherwise if you’re healthy and there are no complications I would suggest to buy compression socks - walk around - drink plenty of liquids

We had Greece booked for September this year too and rather than me carrying on being anxious and worrying we decided it was best to just move it to the following year. So we are going next year instead and I feel calmer about it!

We spoke about this however, I would feel so overwhelmed and more anxious taking away a 9 month old I think as so much more could go wrong 🤦🏻‍♀️ I haven’t been deemed a high risk and if my midwife clears me, our holiday package are reluctant to really do anything other than us either go or lose the money we’ve paid for it.

I’m flying next month and I’ll be 29w+5 days and then 30w+1 day on the return. My airline doesn’t require a fit to fly and my consultant said as long as I’m feeling ok and there’s no issues then I’m good to go. X

I flew long haul (Australia to UK) when I was 28 weeks with my first pregnancy. I had to get a fit to fly from my Aussie midwife, wear compression socks, keep hydrated and regular movement, but it was absolutely fine.
