Tonies box hype

Hey LB is turning one and looking for toy recommendations.
I see sooooo many recommend a tonies bix, but I don’t really understand the hype for them? I just don’t get it. Do you not just read them a story? For the price of them I don’t know if it’s worth it?? Am I missing out?
Any insight is great as to why they’re so great please 😂

I think it's because it's audio without a screen so they can just listen in the background. We are thinking of getting one for Christmas for our little girl so she is that bit older. I am getting like a ball pit slide and soft play shapes for birthday as she loves to climb on absolutely everything 😂

I love it. Not so helpful at this age but when they get a bit older and try to drag bedtime out for ages with extra books, you can just tell them to pick a Tonie instead and stick it on. Or if they start waking early in the morning and running out of their room, you can tell them not to do that but if they wake early they can stick a Tonie on until get up time. Has worked amazingly for my almost 3 year old. They aren't just stories, also music, podcasts, games. New toniebox is being released soon so just pre-ordered for my eldest as she turns 4 soon, then October baby can have her old one. With him I just plan to play it while I'm getting him changed etc in bedtime routine. Also you can buy second hand, probably after the new one is released in a couple of weeks lots of people will be selling the old style box. Tonies keep their value well too, can usually sell for £10 each + p&p, more for ones that end up being rare. Or swapping them. Good Facebook groups for this. It's a great alternative to screen time.

I think we will get one for 2nd birthday. This year we might get some soft play bits and a pickler triangle climbing set, maybe a trike? X
