Please share your experience!

Hello! I am so HAPPY that there is a group for this!!! My doctor would like for me to get a cerclage because I had cervical cancer earlier this year/last year. I just wanted to connect with those that are on that same journey or anyone would like to share their experiences! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›

I have an incompetent cervix, which we didnโ€™t know until last my firstborn at 17 weeks, he was stillborn, so with my second we were aware that a cerclage would be necessary, they did it at 14 weeks, and at that point I think I was already 2 cms dilated, it held pretty well I had my son at 34 weeks, probably around i 31-32 weeks I started having contractions but whenever I went to the doctor they went away until that last appointment and they sent me straight to the hospital for the removal and kept me there to have the baby because my doctor believed I was in labor, the cerclage placement was anxiety inducing within itself for me personally maybe because what I went through, I ended up getting sick but they gave me a epidural for the pay so I didnโ€™t feel anything when it came to it, after it work off I was sore and needed help to the bathroom and for food snd stuff and was told to stay in bed, I felt tender in that area, but the most painful thing I honestly want to say about +

That experience had to be after the epidural wore off, I got this pain in my legs i cant say why probably because how long they had been numb, after I walked it off it was better. I want to say that was the worse, but it doesnโ€™t compare to childbirth! If you have anymore questions or anything feel free to message me :)

Hey lovely .. I had pre cancerous cells on my cervix like 9 years ago and had a lot removed .. therefore my cervix was only 19mm long instead of the usual 40. I had a stitch put in at 13 weeks of pregnancy. The procedure itself is didnโ€™t feel as I had an epidural .. then I went into labour with it still in at 36 weeks. They did an emergency c section and removed the stitch at the same time. All in all .. I didnโ€™t find it stressful or painful .. xx

I had a LEEP to prevent cervical cancer from completely forming, so I have an insufficient cervix, not incompetent. My Transvaginal Cerclage held fine in my previous pregnancy, but I had an allergic reaction and went into preterm labor. No one believed me, so I was sent home and was in labor for a total of two days until my TVC started tearing my cervix, then I went septic and started dying awaiting antibiotics that never came, so my TVC was removed, my twins were evacuated and cremated, and I went to the ICU.

I now have a Transabdominal Cerclage and just delivered a healthy baby girl by C-section last month. I firmly believe that my journey was worth it, but it was definitely an abnormal experience that was traumatic, but my cerclage was never the problem, just a terrible male OB-GYN that laughed at me and mocked instead of providing stabilizing care when it mattered the most.
