Hey y'all! Just joined the group. Full disclosure, "Crunchy and Christian" is more of a goal for me than a current reality. I'll be lurking in a few groups for Crunchy info and guidance, but I thought I should be more direct about Christianity!
I was raised with no religion, my parents are pretty anti-church, but I've always considered myself agnostic rather than atheist (i believe there's a higher power, but I have no real info about any religions). My husband was raised very religious. He had a rough upbringing and rejected everything from it for a long time, but recently he's been talking about how important it is for him for his family to feel the kind of love you can only feel from God... I'm on board, wholeheartedly! But I'll admit, he's not a good teacher lol. I'm hoping for some guidance on where to start learning? So far I have a "beginner's bible" audiobook, it's geared towards kids so it's SUPER simplified but I figured it was a good place to start?

Hi! Welcome 🤗. I am so happy for you! Starting a walk with Christ is definitely exciting and confusing. You definitely have the right idea! I would highly recommend looking into the “Bible in a Year” on the bible app. That helped me a lot. Would be happy to provide any guidance 🥰. Seems like out husbands are in a similar place as well

I agree with the Bible in a year! It’s such a great resource to learn from. The Bible app in general has so many studies that are geared towards all things.
I think one of the best places to start when learning about God is with Jesus’ life. I always tell friend to gospels are a great place to start reading. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Starting in the Old Testament can be confusing and overwhelming for new bible readers, but Genesis is also a good one to start in! Even if it’s just Genesis 1-3, the creation through the fall.

Maybe sit down with your parents and ask more questions like why they are anti-church as you say.
