When a clothing item says “4 years” is it 3-4 years or 4-5? 🥲

I think it means up to 4 years so I picked 3-4. X

It means up to 4 years, so same size as 3-4 years....vinted is terrible for this I have to tick 2 sizes for my daughters.

Well it depends how small/big your child is lol for me a size 4 means 4-5 as he didn’t fit a size 4 until he was like, 4.5. He’s now 6 and wears a size 5 😂 he’s always worn smaller than what his age was he’s a petite lil thang. At 1 he was still wearing a lot of his 6-9m clothes

In all honesty I try to avoid clothing that only states ages like that because, I'm never certain. I'd like to think it'd be from 4 - 5 years, if I was to hazard a guess.

If you start with baby sizes, 0-3 months and 3 months are the same if you compare the actual size of the garments. Obviously there’s a little variation between brands. So 4 years would be 3-4 years.

So baby sizes, the ones listed in months are the ones where it’s up to the number. So six month clothing is for up to six month olds, on average in size. Once you hit the toddler numbers, it’s just telling you what age they are when they wear the clothes. 4 T is for four-year-olds, 5 T is for five-year-olds, etc. etc.

I swear it's different everywhere which is very annoying especially when buying on Vinted or any preloved sites

It’s definitely up to 4 years. Similar to adult clothes, if it’s says S it means you can fit if you are up to size S and S included, if you’re M you won’t fit in an S, it’s not S-M. Just like baby sizes 3 months means 0-3 however at 0 months it will be a bit big and somewhere close to 3 would fit perfectly, as a standard size however children are all different.

It depends on brand. Some brands make 4T up until 4 years old (average) some mean in 4-5. For example I believe Oshkosh is up until the age, while Gap is starting at that age

An easy way of remembering for me is the size on kids clothing is “up to _” so if it says 6 months it’ll fit generally until the baby is 6 months. 4t it’ll generally fit until 4 years old.

As far as I know the number it says is the lower number. So 6-9 months is 6 months. 18-24 months is 18 months. 4-5T is 4T

My 3 year old fits in 5t, so I'm not one to comment #tallkids
