Hii, just looking for some advice. My 9 week old boy has a dry face and ears. It doesn’t seem to affect him much but I wondered what everyone uses? I don’t want to put perfumed products on him just yet and especially not on his face. My mother in law suggested jasmine oil as he is mixed and she said this works well but we haven’t yet tried this. TIA

Oh yea it’s pretty common and normal for newborns to get flaky. You could use scent free baby lotion for the dry skin but it’s nothing to be worried about. It should be gone around 1-2 months.

Coconut oil and organic products for baby skin or eczema skin were my friends

Yeah my son suffered with this too.. traditionally our culture uses organic olive oil when they’re fresh outta the womb and then I moved to mustela hydra bebe facial cream which helped a lot and when it’s cold and dry air I mix it with the dermaveen baby extra rich moisturizer. I’ve noticed I have to like put a layer let it set and then do another layer. Hope this helps ❤️

My baby was the same way and I was so scared to put anything on her skin I ended up making her breast milk soap it sliced her cradle cap baby acne and dry skin saw results within days!!!

Just coconut oil. I already had it for myself as that’s what I slather myself with after my shower so I used a lil for him too

Beautiful baby btw 🙏

Breast milk
I used it on both if mine, worked wonders

I used Mustela facial cream and it worked. Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!

Just use baby oil. I was planning to start with Aveeno, but my midwife said that baby oil is better and seems to work quite well.

Try this brand we had the same and this has made a massive difference. https://kokoso.co.uk/products/kokoso-baby-collection

Use whatever cream you go with but slug it with aquaphor or cerave healing ointment. It will lock the moisture in.

I made a tub of kokoso, tallow balm and breastmilk which I keep in the freezer so it will last 6 months.
I just scrape some out when I need to use it and let it melt and warm in my hands before rubbing on bubs face and in all the neck rolls lol

I'm pretty sure that's normal at that age. My daughter's dermatologist recommended a tiny bit of petroleum jelly after wash/wiping my daughter down.

Answers seem to vary quite a bit, but I second coconut oil, as it absorbs well, not greasy and will last the day (can also be used on hair). I’ve used it my whole life and my skin has remained, soft, moist, bouncy and line free.

Pure Shea butter, it’s not as runny as coconut oil. Used on both my pips and I still use it now x

My son face used to drink the petroleum jelly. I would use it and his face would dry out again.
