Bottle feeds on holiday

Hey Ladies,

We are going on holiday very soon (Mallorca) and just started formula feeding the little one (10 months old) I was wondering what the easiest way is to make her bottles when away?! 😊 (did you take the powder and mixed it with boiling water? Did you take ready to drink milk? How did you clean the bottles?)
Also, did you give your little ones water (as I am not quite sure about tap water). I appreciate any advice! xx

Im going to take ready mixed formula with me. You can do a click and collect order to the airport store so it doesn’t need to go through security. Do you have a kitchen area where you’re staying?

The bottled water will have a baby on it if it’s safe for babies to drink font Vella is a popular brand.

We took ready to feed for the plane and then powder for out there, we used boiled bottled water did the hot shot method and topped up with cool boiled water. Take more than you think you need tho as baby will likely want more if it’s hot.

We washed up with washing up liquid and tap water and then used tap water and Milton tablets to sterilise & got a collapsible bucket off Amazon for this x

We did the same as Megan - ready to feed for the plane and back ups for if we were out for the day, then the rest of the time it was hot shot using bottled water. Definitely take more than you think you’ll need as things like ready made bottles aren’t really available over there.

Only difference is for sterilising we used microwave steam bags x

Thank you all so much, that’s really helpful. We are staying in a hotel, so won’t have a kitchen area, but I was thinking to get boiled water from the hotel restaurant (and also taking ready mixed ones). And good shout to take a little more 😊🙏

They do sell some of the same brands out there, I use Aptamil which is called Almiron in Majorca. You might need to find a larger supermarket tho

This is good to know . I was thinking they would to an equivalent 😊

As others have said ready made for travelling- I took a washing up bowl and sterilised with Milton tablets. Washed up as normal with washing up liquid and bottle brush (kitchen roll came in super handy to lay out in the bathroom for the bottles drying)
We bought a collapsible travel kettle so we knew it was clean and limescale free etc. I went to Dubai and they literally sold bottled water specifically for babies. Not sure if Spain do this too. I was also able to order formula on Amazon/equivalent of deliveroo (we ended up having to stay abroad and didn’t have enough)
There’s no limit on baby formula when flying so take as much as you can with you. Keep your bottles with you on the plane so you have plenty of sterilised ones should you need it in a delay and won’t need to wash up etc in an airport.
I also bought the bottle warmer (tommee tippee) which was handy however takes a while and only worked for the first 3 weeks. Have fun! Xx
