Anyone else’s toddler just out right rude? The last few weeks his behaviour has been getting worse and worse to the point I’m embarrassed of him slightly I know it sounds awful. But he rules the roost at home and I’ve had enough. I’ve ordered a behaviour sticker chart today which I’m hoping will help slightly. Multiple times a day he shouts at me or his dad to go away if we ask him to do so a simple task such as let us get him dressed he shouts no go away and runs off. This morning he was rude so I took away his two favourite car toys but this didn’t faze him one bit he continued being rude. I left him in his bedroom and told him mummy will come back when he’s being nice. He was happily staying there shouting mummy come back now! Anyone else going through this stage and what did you do? He’s worse to his dad when we’re both around and if his dad try’s to do much he’ll just shout no daddy! Stop that! I’m honestly not sure what to do! Someone please help!

Just to say that my little boy is similar - he’ll throw toys on the floor and at his sister, he thinks it’s hilarious. If I ask him for help tidying up he says no and runs off, or makes more mess 🫠
He’s got a real cheeky streak in him but he definitely pushes limits.
Although mine doesn’t like being told no or told off. I put him in his cot as well to remove him from situations and stay with him, but he’ll scream and cry the whole time, even though it’s usually only a minute he’s in there.
We just try to model good behaviour as much as possible and hope that it’s sinking in.
And consequences like taking things away if he’s thrown them or remove him from the room for a break.
Nursery say he’s not like that at all when he’s there so in our case I think he’s letting off steam when at home.
We never had any of this with our first so hoping it’s a phase he’ll grow out of 🤞🏼

I don’t really have any advice, but I am right there with you. My little boy sounds the same, he’s hard to be around at the moment in honesty, because if he doesn’t get his own way, he kicks off and his tantrums are almost unbearable. We take rewards away when he’s been naughty but it just flares his up more. Let me know if the sticker chart helps, I’m struggling too! Hope he improves for you ASAP xx

My little boy really pushes the limits, his a boisterous little boy but he can be really naughty, most nursery sessions he will have time in time out 😬

My LG goes through phases of being so sweet and lovely to so difficult, she’s in the difficult phase again and told me to go away and go to work this morning I couldn’t believe it! But yes the bossing around and rudeness I find really difficult I’m
Hoping it will pass quickly

So first point is to understand that they are no being rude, just is not able to express himself.
So I read somewhere that every human comes with 2 buckets power and attention, that they need to feel with positive or bad behavior (since they still do not understand the bad piece).
The power is have a little control.. in all honesty even I as adult I get pissed off of people telling every minute what to do….
So for me it has helped (off course is not perfect yet but it did improve a lot):
1. I let her chose her clothes (I put like 3 pre approved choices and she picks from there).
2. When she gets from nursery I ask her if she wants her milk now or after dinner.
3. Do you want the blue or pink dummy?
It sounds silly because are decisions that does not have any major consequence, but it improve her behavior considerable.
Off course I will not ask want to go to bed or want to eat X, or things like that because in all honesty those are non negotiable things

Naughty step or chair…. My son was the same a few months back, he would hit too! I sent him to the step away from everything as many times a day as needed, sometimes he would come back from the step hit again and go straight back to the step, after he’s calmed down I explain simply the consequences of his actions and you have to stick to whatever you’ve said or whatever boundary you put in place.
A few months on now and I don’t remember the last time he even sat on the step, he doesn’t hit anymore and he doesn’t shout or get aggressive, sometimes I get a bit of an attitude but a swift look from me and he switches up his behaviour real quick. It feels awful in the moment but now we’re out the other side I’m so glad we done it!
Stay as consistent as possible with whatever discipline route you choose and eventually they will stop because they don’t like the consequence.
You got this mama!!!
