Currently 28 weeks 6 days pregnant and been discharged from a 10 day stay in hospital following bleeding and cramping. They did a swab and found amniotic fluid (could be a false positive as I don’t feel like I have been leaking?) so have been treated like PPROM. I took the steroid to develop baby and have finished a course of antibiotics to avoid infection… I’m feeling pretty normal but taking things really steady as I’m so scared to bleed again. I just wanted to know if anyone else has experience of this? I have had no follow up care from my local hospital/midwife as I ended up being shipped off to a hospital over an hour away where neonatal care was available should I have needed it. Just feeling really worried!!! I feel like I should be getting regular monitoring to check my cervix is still closed and fluid at a safe level around the baby since I have been treated like I was going into pre-term labour?

i got diagnosed with PPROM at 23 weeks and got admitted for 3 days and came back home bled again 2 weeks later at 25weeks and got admitted for another 3 days i had the steroid injections and magnesium drip.
I am now at home again i have weekly appointments for bloods to check for infection and will have scans every 3 weeks x

Hi love - 10 days feels so long! So I had PPROM at 27+6 3 days in hospital. My local hospital want me every week for monitoring so bloods to check for infection, CTG and blood pressure. IM still leaking so I have to keep an eye on the colour of the fluid for infection but was told
Not to worry about the amount lost. I had steroids too and am now 32 weeks. I would call you midwife and ask for regular checks - I’m getting growth scans every two weeks to check placenta function and water level too ( I have low pap a too 🤪)

I had PPROM at 24+1 weeks. Was also blue light by ambulance to a high risk hospital 2 & half hours away. They kept me in for 3 weeks, gave me a 10days course of antibiotics, twice a week bloods and twice a week scans. I was discharged to home at 27+6 weeks without a plan. I had to make calls to my local hospital to make arrangements for close monitoring. The first day my consultant saw me she wasn’t happy with my blood and colour of fluid leak… ended up being admitted for almost 3wks again with steroids administered (they got me so sick 🤢) I am 31+1 now, I’ve been gushing and leaking everyday but baby is doing fine even with reduced fluids.
Anyways you need very close monitoring because with your membranes gone you’re at high risk of infection. Call your local fetal assessment unit and they’ll be able to schedule appointments for you, all the best mama xxx
