Hypothyroidism and heart burn

Does anyone have to take levothyroxine but has horrendous heartburn that gaviscon etc does not help at all? I was advised Omeprazole but when I searched it says this can stop the absorption of the thyroxine. My midwives, hospital are horrendous so hard to get in touch with and a similar answer from all on a good day, but I’m also away!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and on levothyroxine. Since about 7 weeks I've had horrendous heartburn/nausea. Ive been on omeprazole twice a day since about 9 weeks, I just take it about an hour after the levothyroxine but my thyroid levels have been fine all the way through.

My heartburn was consistently bad throughout the pregnancy, especially 3rd trimester, but managed to deal with it with tums, lots of small meals throughout the day and exercises to relieve pressure on the diaphragm.

Good luck 🙏🏻

Hey! I’m 29 weeks pregnant also a hypothyroidism girl and take 1 omeprazole a day, if heartburn is bad I take 2! As long as you take it 2 hours before or after ANY medication you’ll be absolutely fine. My mums a nurse and recommends 2 hours to ensure the omeprazole doesn’t absorb the other medication 💊
