Can I cook with wine and eat it? 22 weeks pregnant.

I've seen this recipe where they cook a jus with wine. It will be reduced and cooked throughly.

I wouldn’t only because wine alcohol it goes straight to the placenta I wanted a wine glass or two wine is safe to drink but it can also damage the placenta n every baby or pregnant person respond differently to it I was too scared to try but each it own

You cook the alcohol out, so yes. Plus one drink during your whole pregnancy won’t affect baby.

The official advice is to avoid all alcohol during pregnancy, as the safest approach is not to drink at all. While cooking with wine can reduce the alcohol content, it may not be completely eliminated, and alcohol can still harm the baby. For this reason, the NHS advises against consuming any alcohol, including when cooking x

The alcohol content gets cooked out mostly, also one drink or one small taste of wine isn’t going to affect your entire pregnancy as Lottie says.
The amount of alcohol that would actually get into your system after cooking it off would be a lot less than people realise x

I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s like what…a 1/4 cup for the whole recipe AND cooked off? It’s not like you’re eating this every day hopefully.

You might could sub it for grape juice and a splash of vinegar though 🤷‍♀️ I have no idea if that will taste decent however 😂

I’ve cooked with red wine a few times and baby is fine. But it’s personal choice so don’t do it if you’d prefer not to. Maybe you could use a red wine stock pot instead, the alcohol content may be lower

What helps put my mind at ease when it comes to alcohol in cooking is thinking about all the women who consume copious amounts of alcohol for weeks, even months before finding out they are pregnant. Their babies are fine.
I'm not saying go out and drink a bunch of alcoholic beverages. A bit of wine in, say pasta sauce, that is going to be shared with family is not going to have a negative impact on the baby.

Anyone else just waiting for the recipe to be posted?! 😆 I’m not preggers !

The alcohol burns off, leaving just the flavour behind, you will be fine.

Nobody wants to drink a glass of alcohol. I was just asking if it's safe to pour a glass into Jus if I cook it thoroughly.
I don't know why abortion is now being mentioned.

Yes it’s fine! Enjoy it
