Is it normal for my 3mo to have a fever (99.2) with a growth spurt? We think he might be teething, too, because he's drooling pretty heavily and chewing on his fists/bottle nipples. Is it safe to give him any amount of baby ibuprofen? What should I do to help with the growing pains?

Babies under 6 months should not have ibuprofen, but Tylenol is typically safe at 3 months. Growth spurts and teething also do not typically cause fever. I would speak with your pediatrician, as a true fever (100.4) in a baby under 3 months requires evaluation.

Call the doctor and they will tell you the amount to give

Hey so that temperature is normal. Growth spurts can make babies fussier, hungrier, and sleepier, but they don’t cause fever. Anything above 100.4 is considered a fever. Slight fluctuations (99–99.5°F) can happen from baby being warm, crying, normal daily variation.
No. Do not give ibuprofen to a baby under 6 months unless a doctor specifically tells you to. Ibuprofen can be harder on the kidneys of younger infants. Tylenol is the preferred choice if your pediatrician says medication is needed but it doesn’t seem like it is bc your baby doesn’t have a fever and there are many other teething gels and things you can do to help with pain. Look up teething gels for baby under 6months old. I use Dr Talbots day and night gel it’s free of alcohol, dyes, benzocaine free, belladonna free. I put a little bit on my finger and rub it on his gums it seems to help

Yeah my baby was crying and really fussy while I took his temperature it ran 99.9 I took it an hour later it was 97.9 . So they can work themselves and cause a high read or just maybe being warm from being held or clothes. Best of luck , I’m going through it as well , my baby’s usually so happy but lately it’s been hard he’s definitely teething and because of that he’s crying and nursing all the time feels like. But yea Dr Talbots is good I just put it on my pinky in like a hook shape and let him bite it 😫lol
