Mamas, how are you all approaching tummy time? My baby isn’t a big fan yet, and I’m trying to make it more comfortable for her. How long do you do it each day, and when did your baby start liking it more?

I've only done it once with my baby on the floor. I'm mostly doing it with baby on my chest as I'm laying on the couch. His pediatrician did a little test at the last visit and then said, "I can tell he's been doing tummy time!" so it must be working 😊

We really only do it with her on our chest or over a shoulder. She hasn’t been too big of a fan of doing it on her mat. But when we do, it’s only for two or three minutes at a time until she starts to get fussy and then we pick her up.

I do when he’s laying on my chest during his wake times. For my oldest I started doing tummy time on the floor around 3/4 months with his play mat.

We started with the chest laying and been doing that since she was born. Two weeks old and can hang out on the floor for like a good 5-7 minutes now

Just tried the floor for the first time a couple days ago. We probably did about 5 mins. She killed it. She will be 3 weeks Sunday. Before that we were doing tunmy time on our chests. She’s also had insane neck strength since birth.

My baby does it during our contact naps, but I also will put the nursing pillow down and position him so he’s lying across it if that makes sense. I do that on the bed so it’s a little bit more comfortable. He seems content for a little bit. I will also do his contrast card when he is hanging out there.

When the babies get a little older I had this water mat for tummy time with my first that had little ocean cut outs inside and it made tummy time far more enjoyable for him! Idk what age it's for though I just think I got it when he was maybe 4 months?

Our pediatrician said mostly tummy time on the chest is fine and we can occasionally put her on the floor! When I do the floor I put her on her back on her mat and slowly roll her to her front. I’ve also used the small boppy activity pillow to prop her up a bit which you can get the same effect with a rolled up towel
