Nuby rapidcool

Do I really need one? Baby is 4 months old and has been EBF until now. We are transitioning onto formula and I'm wondering how best to feed when out and about, BF was so much easier for this 😭.
I was thinking of getting the rapid cool however theyre quite pricey and dont want to if theres another similarly convenient method. I have a tommee tippee flask, could I pre prepare bottles and take them in a cool bag and heat them up in the hot water from the flask? Or would this be more faff. Thank you

Once made a bottle is good for 2 hours at room temp (think it’s 4 if in a cool bag) so that’s where the latter suggestion is a bit tricky. If you can time your feeds etc then absolutely fine, but otherwise the rapid cool means you can make on the go fresh with no worry about how long it’s been sat out x

The nuby has been a lifeline for us. My baby girl has really subtle hunger cues now and they're easy to miss - so she goes from 0-100 super quickly. I wouldnt be able to wait the 20 minutes for the kettle to cool on its own.

We brought the uv steriliser for it too, so I make the whole thing in the nuby.

As someone else has said, formula is only safe for 2 hours after being made - and 1 hour after they start drinking from it.

Yeah you can pre make bottles if you don't want to use these.

They are good though but you need a few. You can pick them up cheap on FB marketplace x

Or you can use ready to feed bottles of aptamil/ cow and gate etc but depends how often cos obviously these are like £1 each or something

Thanks everyone I'm going to the rapid cool now 😊

I wanted to, however I stuck to a conventional method of one boiling hot water flask and another of cool boiled water and it works perfectly for me, I brought the thermos brand and it keeps the water piping hot for 12 hours! I normally boil my water in the morning and leave it to cool and it lasts me all day into the night but I do a fresh one anyway x

We had two! And I got every penny of use out of them honestly was a lifesaver! If you can get one you won’t regret it.

It depends how long you are going to be out for. We mostly bf but have made formula bottles for smaller outings (they are good for up to 2 hours) or taken the premade ready to drink stuff with us

Life saver for us

I love mine, i initially had 2 rapidcools and recently bought a 3rd because it’s a lifesaver and having 3 means i can make 3 feeds before i need to fill up the steriliser.

I use them for all feeds even at home, they are so helpful for quick bottle making at night. I did get sucked into buying the Rapidhot machine as well, and i hate to admit but i love that too - during the peak of witching hour season i would do anything to make the bottle as quickly as possible and get him settled.

When we go out i also have the nubysterilise UV gadget (£20) so i can clean it for the next feed if needed.

If i know his feed is due within 1-2 hrs of leaving the house i will make a bottle with boiling water, keep it in a thermal bag, when he’s ready to feed i pour it into the rapidcool if it’s still too hot, and it’s ready to drink in just a min.

I think the only downside is that they take 3hrs to reset & shouldn’t be steam/heat sterilised so you need a UV option or cold water method.

My breastfed baby will only drink formula that is warm. As soon as it got cold he wasn’t interested and he is a 0-100 baby so need to make warm bottles asap. So rapid cool is a god send. Boil kettle and cool it down straight away to a perfect warm temperature that I know he’ll drink

Life saver for us too. My little boy had formula from about 11 weeks and we used 2 Nuby Rapid Cools on rotation until he was over one. We also had a thermos to keep water hot over night to make night feeds. I’ve kept them for baby number 2 if we have to go with formula again. It was definitely our number one purchase for baby.

I only use one when out and about for an extended period of time in order to make bottles on the go.

It’s a game changer! I’d have been lost without mine

Rapid cool was one of the best investments we made for our and about!

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!

Rapid cool/ hot shot method

Sorry if this sound stupid but how are we doing the hot shot method?
Are we boiling the kettle and letting it cool a little before adding to hot flask? Then with the cool water do you boil the kettle and leave it to cool right down before putting into another flask?
My baby brain is fried trying to work out the easiest way!
