Do you put cereals/otameal in baby’s formula? I remember when I was little and I used to help at home with my baby brother we used to out cereals in his bottle but I asked chat GPT and apparently isn’t safe?
Is anyone doing it that can give me some advice and how is it going? 😘
I use Kendamil

It’s absolutely not recommended, I think it can be pretty harmful from what I’ve understood. It’s an older generation thing. My mum used to put rusk in my bottle when I was little too. I personally wouldn’t bother with it as I wouldn’t risk anything however, as baby is of the age they can eat then you could just feed baby sone cereal before bed to keep them full. The reason people put it in bottles from my understanding is a ‘knockout bottle’ to help baby stay full and sleep through x

The NHS website specifically says this: "When using a bottle, do not put anything (such as sugar or cereals) in it other than breast milk or infant formula."

It's a choking hazard and not recommended at all. People used to believe it would help baby sleep better, we know better not to do it now.
