Public Outings/Restaurants? Tips?

I want to take my baby out in public, just don’t know how. Easier to keep him in stroller/car seat? Baby wear? Definitely feed first. Do I do a full wake window and go out on his naps?

With my first she would be in her carseat in restaurants and perfectly happy. She was bottle fed so we could do it anywhere anytime. If it was a wake window she would be awake and interactive, if it was sleeping time, noisy environments put her right out. As she got older, babywearing was great for napping on the go.

My second hates the carseat and is EBF. I either wear her or hold her which makes eating out a but harder but still works great for napping. The hardest part is she wants to eat at all the worst times. So we either breastfeed where we are or I go to the car to do it if it's more comfortable.

With both we never didn't go out because of them. It's good for them to go everywhere and experience lots of things

I do EBF and make sure that he’s fed right before we leave the house. I leave him in his car seat with the stroller. He does sleep most of the time in it. If we’re taking longer than expected I breastfeed him in the car but I try not to take too long outside since he also gets overstimulated.

Hi, first time mom here with newborn that is almost 11 weeks. I didn’t know either at first too. Husband and I started out doing picnics (w/ takeout) at the park to ease into being out with baby. This way we adapt to baby as needed if she woke up for a diaper change or feeding. I do combo feeding whether I am home or out so breastfeeding or formula. I recently got wearable pumps to put on the go and it’s been a game changer for me. My tip to you as you start doing public outings/restaurants is be prepared for anything— window or no window anything can happen anytime. Have your diaper bag stocked and ready to go with diapers, bottles, binky, and anything else you feel is essential. Worry not about any looks, we all gotta start somewhere. Deep breaths, you got this. Sending positive vibes your way.

I just go out whenever. With my oldest I bottle fed and my current I breastfeed. If he gets hungry I feed him. Sometimes he is awake about the whole time we are out and others he sleeps the whole time. I don’t really care what others think so if he cry’s I handle it and move on with my day. If he gets hungry I’ll just pull my boob out in front of everyone and feed him. Him being fully and happy is my only priority so I don’t care who sees me feeding him. Just make sure you have extra clothes, diapers and wipes. If baby takes a pacifier bring an extra just in case. If you breastfeed and aren’t comfortable with people seeing being a cover.

My son's bottle fed and we usually either feed before we leave the house or feed on the way (in the car seat and then burp once we get there). This ensures that he's basically asleep the whole time while we're out. He seems to nap exceptionally well when we're out and about bc it's so loud I think
