help with Sick baby

my son has been sick for the past week. he has this cough that wakes him up from his nap. i don’t know how to get rid of it or get him to spit it up. i have to watch him while he sleeps i give him cough medicine and i have Pedialyte i try giving him warm water but that’s it any other suggestions.
