No period

So I’m 2 months pp and haven’t had a period yet. If I don’t have a period how will I know when I’m ovulating? We want another baby because I’m 35 already but I know they say to wait a bit before having another one so there’s less of a chance of complications. I don’t want to go on birth control because I feel that’s a big reason why it took me to get pregnant the first time. I still want to be intimate with my husband but don’t really need to get pregnant right now.
