UK - is it possible to get help towards petrol for car?

I don’t have any money only enough for one journey (around 2 miles).
I have to drop my son off to school this coming week and I don’t get paid until Thursday.

Do you think there’s any authority or organisation that may help in this situation?
If it wasn’t for my son’s school drop off/pick ups I wouldn’t be panicking.

Anyone have any advice or where i can look for some temporary help

I had to drive my son over 100miles per day to his sen school and it took the council two months to reimburse me for payment.
Might be worth speaking to the school although I think the local authorities would expect you to walk it.

How far do you live from the school? You will be expected to walk or use public transport. I don’t know your exact situation but definitely contact your local food bank for advice as they will know who to contact

Schools have hardship funds available but it may just be vouchers, if you have benefits an advance maybe?, children centres may have advice or organisations, if you work potentially the job centre could give you a buspass

Is there noone local to potentially car share and you can contribute to their petrol once you are paid

Can you walk or take a bus/train? If not maybe you could car share for this coming week?

With the way catchments work though I'd expect you to be able to walk to school even if it takes longer than driving.

Public transport is great or maybe source out a used/ pre-loved bike for him
