Vitamin K

To all the non- vaxx mama's. Did you give your baby the vitamin K shot?
We gave it to our first born but no other vaccines and now that Im pregnant again we are thinking about doing none and only do the vitamin K drops.
Any suggestions? And which drops brand is good? đź’•

I’ve been looking into this a lot throughout this third pregnancy. I don’t have recommendations for drops because we did the K shot for both our first two since we circumcised, but this time around we are leaning toward just being sure to not cut the cord until the blood stops flowing, breastfeeding right away, and not doing the vitamin K at all.

This is a post with some great info on it:

We did vitamin K drops! We didn’t want anything “extra” from a shot, but wanted to still try to prevent any bleeding/clotting issues just in case. And in my research, I couldn’t find really many downsides to doing the drops. I believe the brand we use is Biotics Research, and it was recommended by our midwife.

I didn’t give my baby the vitamin k shot. However, I did delayed cord clamping and use organic drops that are a combination of vitamin D and K.

Yes, I gave my kids the vitamin k shot and every other shot they needed. I'm fully vaccinated, eat well, was raised in healthy living/lifestyle household. I never get sick. I caught covid 3 years after it had gone around and it was very mild. All vaccines come with knowledge, and warnings.

Oh okay that wasn't necessary as many other people mentioned vaccines also. sorry I bothered you. I thought my information was useful based on what I did/do with my kids and the outcome in relation to your question. I also do delay cord clamping and would love to save my placenta this time afford. I just can't ever afford it.

Seems like no one's post was addressed as you would have preferred. Not sure what answer you are looking for. Looks like most Mom's opted in.

We debated my whole pregnancy. We bought them to have on hand when he was born but didn’t end up doing it. Got pressured into TDAP vaxx and we will never do another

We did the oral option after a ton of push back at the hospital. They tried to tell us they’d have to order it and do a whole complicated process, magically when we said we’d just opt out entirely they procured an oral option. You can research the difference, but apparently the body processes it way easier (I’m not a medical professional so idk)

I definitely would not get the shot ! But I did have the drops … u can put like one drop on your breast and than breastfeed that’s totally enough .
